MOLLY GODDARD Grungy and Undone.

Lead Artist: Luke Hersheson

For L'Oréal Professionnel
@lukehersheson

Hair Trend: Separated, piecey texture with a hint of movement. It’s slightly grungy and undone. “There’s not a curling iron in sight, but hair is not straight either - it’s a very specific texture. We’re bringing out the separation with a hint of oil in the hair which gives hair that grungy feel” says Luke.

The How-to:

The Pro Tip: Separation is key to this look so it looks lived-in. Avoid any brushes and separate the hair with your fingers after spritzing with L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Ring Light.

BORA AKSU Inspired by Hilda of Klint.

Lead Artist: Daniel Martin

@danielmartin81

Hair Trend: Pre-Raphaelite hair - flat waves that look and feel super-airy. “We want it to look ethereal and a little bit spiritual. These are soft, flat waves that ar e slightly irregular with dry texture,” says Daniel

The How-to:

Pro-tip:

If you don’t have a triple barrel waver tool, create a flat wave finish using three strand braids and clamp with a flat iron or the L’Oréal Professionnel Steampod 3.0.

ERDEM 1920's style with a futuristic twist.

Lead Artist: Anthony Turner

@Anthonyturnerhair

Hair Trend: High-shine wet-look featuring modern-day finger waves finished with a silver bobby pin. Plus, seven silver cropped bobs pre-styled with S-shaped bends. “It’s a 20’s style with a futuristic twist. The high-shine, helmet-like finish stops it from looking costume drama.”

The How-to:

  • Comb hair into a low, side parting - left to right - and apply about half a tub of L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Fix Max to the top of the head.
  • Using a tail comb, shape one single finger wave into the front so it resembles a brush stroke.
  • Add a silver bobby pin before the first loop to secure the finger wave and add a contemporary twist.
  • Gently diffuse the top of the head to ‘bake in’ the Fix Max gel and set the style.
  • Secure a strict, low pony in the nape of the neck with elastic.
  • Apply heat to the ponytail with a precision nozzle for a super-sleek finish and smooth L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil on the ends for shine so it marries with the top of the head.

The Pro Tip

To achieve a finger wave with staying power, use lots of product - L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Fix Max - and set the gel for 15-20 minutes with a diffuser to really set the style.

CHARLOTTE KNOWLES Beautiful with edgy depths.

Lead Artist: Shiori Takahashi

@shioritakahashi

Hair Trend: Slicked back but working with the natural texture of the hair. It’s all about the gel. “It’s a sleek and sophisticated look but there’s hidden spikes going on within the hair to hint at the strength of the girl,” says Shiori

The How-to:

The Pro Tip: Use the L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Fix Max to manipulate the texture. Comb through if you want super-sleek shine, or twist for more of a defined curl.

REJINA PYO Fresh, carefree and clean.

Lead Artist: Shiori Takahashi

For L'Oréal Professionnel
@shioritakahashi

Hair Trend: Fresh and pushed back off the face. It’s more of a nonchalant ‘damp’ look than a wet look. “It’s carefree but beautiful and expensive-looking. Hair is clean and off the face, but not slicked back, says Shiori.

The How-to:

  • Section hair and spray L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Pli on hands and pull through the roots, pulling hair back completely off the face.
  •  Dry on a low heat with a diffuser to set the shape.
  •  Once dry, rub a small amount of L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Web Paste between the palm of your hands and use fingertips to create hold and texture around the roots and front of the hair, as if it’s been pushed
    back when wet.
  •  Mist the lengths and ends lightly with water to give the hair a damp feeling and catch the light.

The Pro Tip: If hair is fine or super-straight, mix the L’Oréal Professionnel TECNI.ART Web Paste with a light mist of water in the palm of your hands so it’s not too heavy.
